Ombudsman Dr. Ákos Kozma reported on the activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and his deputies in 2020 at the session of the National Assembly on 8 June 2021. Dr. Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, Deputy Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of National Minorities in Hungary, and Dr. Gyula Bándi, Deputy Commissioner for the Protection of the Interests of Future Generations, also attended the hearing of the report.
Earlier, on 11 May 2021, the Parliament's Committee on the Nationalities in Hungary unanimously adopted the 2020 annual report of the Ombudsman and the Minority Ombudsman.
Dr. Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and Dr. Erzsébet Szalayné Dr. Sándor, the Deputy Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Nationalities in Hungary attended the meeting of the Parliament's Committee on the Nationalities in Hungary, scheduled to discuss the report of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and his deputies for the year 2020, submitted under No. B/15278.
After the presentation of the report by the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and the Deputy Commissioner for Nationalities, the members of the committee asked questions on the report. After the questions had been answered, the Committee supported the report on the activities of the Commissioner and his deputies in 2020 by 13 votes, with no votes against and no abstentions, and recommended it to the Parliament for adoption.
