Dr. Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, hosted Ms. Nazila Ghanea, the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, at the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary on October 15, 2024.
The Commissioner provided information about the responsibilities and competences of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights Hungary, with a particular focus on the activities aimed at protecting the rights of the most vulnerable social groups.
The UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief is an expert appointed by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), tasked with identifying factors that hinder the exercise of the rights covered by the mandate, as well as making recommendations on how to overcome these obstacles and the means to do so.
