Proceedings of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights

In case a violation of fundamental rights emerges, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, within the framework defined by the law, conducts a procedure at request or ex officio but even in lack of a petition or an impropriety, he monitors how the rights of persons with disabilities under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities are enforced in Hungary. If a person with disability is not capable of acting in protection of his or her rights, or if the submission of the petition causes disproportionate difficulty to him or her, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights may conduct proceedings ex officio in order to eliminate such impropriety.
