The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the 27th ÁGOTA® Camp at Tass-Alsószenttamás on 22 July 2024.

The national meeting and summer camp of children and young persons in state care is held annually in the area called ÁGOTA Village by the children’s organisation ÁGOTA. This year, as many as eight hundred young people in state care from all the counties of Hungary may spend ten days at the camp, where youngsters arrive from the care area of the Saint Agatha Child Protection Service and the state child protection institutions alike. At the event, support professionals, teachers, therapists and trained volunteers also spend time with the children. This is a summer event that does not only mean a great experience for the participants but due to its therapeutic nature, it also heals the souls of children who have been through a lot of traumas and have lost their families, and it also strengthens their confidence.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary presented seventy footballs to the campers.
