The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary hosted a member of the European Parliament's Petitions Committee
On October 29, 2024, Dr. Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, hosted Pál Szekeres, a member of the European Parliament's Petitions Committee and the petition coordinator of the Patriots for Europe group.
The main goals of the petition coordinator include ensuring equal competition and accessibility for all citizens.
Since 1 January 2023, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary has taken on the tasks related to the independent mechanism under the UN Convention. In addition to its ongoing activities in this area, the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary now directly supports, protects, and monitors the national implementation of the principles and commitments outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
