null Ombudsman’s Visit to the Zalaegerszeg Special Child Protection Centre, Primary and Vocational School

On October 9, 2024, Dr. Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, visited the Zalaegerszeg Special Child Protection Centre, Primary, and Vocational School, where he was welcomed by the Head of the Institution, Ms. Mária Hegedűs.

The centre’s core responsibility is to provide specialized care and combined special services for children over the age of 12, as designated by the Guardianship Office based on the expert opinion of the deciding committee. These services support children who require a placement that meets specific care needs.

The Zalaegerszeg Child Protection Centre operates with two professional units, with a total approved capacity of 40 residents.

The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary will provide further details on his observations made during the visit in an official report.
